"If not us, then who? And if not now, when?"
Hip hop music always finds a way to vocalize their stance on violence and racism but It's rare for a Fashion label to do so. For Akoo's 11x Human Holiday collection, they use their new campaign to deliver a powerful message.
Directed by John Merizalde and narrated by "Killer Mike", the short film turns Akoo's brand into a timely piece of social commentary. 11x Human holds a soul searching mirror to emotionally charged issues within the community.
"Our goal was to be reflective of the violence that we inflict on our own community and not just limit the focus on external factors such as poverty, poor education and the actions of the police," said Sabai Burnett, Vice President of Marketing at AKOO. "This film is the crescendo of our artistic viewpoint—heavily graphic and unapologetic."
