Multimedia artist Shane Griffith made a 3d print replica of the Kanye West x Adidas Yeezy Boost 350. The abstract take on the sneaker features a sliced and stacked view of the shoe. Viscerally it looks akin to when an old TV cuts out and the image skews in vertical blocks. The adaptation is something Griffith plays with immaculately with his other works. Using line arches and blended colors creates an encapsulating feel to his images all the while it is still free moving and punchy. The abstract sculpture made out of Poly Jet resin material was created by Photogrammetry. Do we know what that is….nope, so here is what the ‘internets’ said:

Photogrammetry is the science of making measurements from photographs.

The output of photogrammetry is typically a map, drawing, measurement, or a 3D model of some real-world object or scene. Many of the maps we use today are created with photogrammetry and photographs taken from aircraft.

While this is big bang theory, discovery channel cool, owning an edition of this sculpture is a pretty penny. (Much like the actual sneaker itself) If you have $5,350 to spare than this beautiful adaptation of what is deemed as the most sought after sneaker this year could be yours. If you don’t have that much to spare here are more pictures of it.
